Odoo Enterprise
Odoo ERP provides the right solution for all company sizes. Here on this page, we would like to introduce you to Odoo Enterprise and the differences to the other versions.
What is Odoo Enterprise?
Odoo Enterprise is one of three Odoo versions. In addition, there is Odoo Online & Odoo Community. Odoo Online (Standard) & Odoo Enterprise have the same functionality and appearance, but differ in that Odoo Enterprise can be customised and the hosting can be freely chosen. For example, on Odoo s.h., On Premise, with Strato or Hetzner etc.
Furthermore, you can use external modules & interfaces, integrate Odoo Studio, and also manage multiple companies in the installation, which is not possible in Odoo Online (as pure SaaS).
Odoo Enterprise is Odoo Online (Custom)
The version Odoo 16 brought several fundamental changes in autumn 2022. The most important was that Odoo Online was split into two versions: Odoo Online (Standard) & Odoo (Custom). The standard version (Odoo Online) has remained the same, except that the limitation of the number of users from 50 has been lifted and all standard apps are included in the monthly/annual user price, just like in the new version Odoo (Custom).
Essentially, only the wording for Odoo Enterprise has been changed, as Odoo Custom includes everything that Odoo Enterprise previously had as a unique selling point (See, what is Odoo Enterprise?). This means: Odoo Enterprise = Odoo Custom.
Advantages & Strengths
Fully integrated
What stands out about Odoo is that all apps are fully integrated and work cross-departmentally - with all the benefits that arise from this. A prerequisite for this is the shared database, which avoids redundant processes.
Efficient processes
Odoo processes work efficiently and save unnecessary steps. Here too, the guarantees are the shared database, cross-departmental working, and the well-thought-out and intuitive software structure, where everything is kept simple.
Customisable
Companies with special processes need more than standard. Odoo is fully customizable and tailor-made adaptable and offers the possibility to develop and fully integrate new modules & apps with Odoo Studio.
Interfaces
Interfaces such as those to Amazon or eBay are already available as standard. For other software, there are already many solutions developed by the Odoo Community. Furthermore, interfaces can be developed for all other software.
Modular structure
A modular structure has many advantages: You can start with just one app and gradually expand the business software, or you can create your own apps & modules without having to reprogram existing apps - but still with the advantage of cross-departmental working.
Hosting
With Odoo, you can express yourself freely when it comes to hosting. You can leave the hosting to Odoo (Odoo Online), you can host on Odoo yourself, use another provider like Strato, or work On-Premise.
Important apps
Warehouse app
The Odoo Warehouse app is the centre of many businesses and provides everything you need to work effectively. Inventory management with double entries, barcode support, batches and serial numbers, transport management, managing multiple warehouses, documentation of all movements, connectors (for DHL, Amazon, eBay), capturing waste, cross-docking, defining your own picking steps, etc.
Sales app
The Odoo Sales app includes all the important features to sell successfully regionally or globally. Creating quotes, invoices and tenders, electronic signature, integrated communication, price lists with individual rules, configurable quote templates, customer portals, contract management, order-specific routes, product configurator, shipping costs based on variables, various product types, etc.
Purchase app
With the Odoo Purchase app, you have full control over your inventory. Important guarantees are the granularly adjustable minimum stock levels, automatically generated requests for quotes for your suppliers, or the forecasted stock levels attached to each product that clearly show when shortages will occur. Other features include the (automatic) export of price lists, creating tenders and framework agreements, etc.
Manufacturing app
With Odoo Manufacturing, you get a comprehensive solution that works holistically across all business areas - transparent, clear & automated. Fully integrated apps include: Inventory, Sales, Purchasing, PLM, Maintenance, Quality - as well as the main production schedule, which ensures efficient timing control of production. Additional features include: multi-level bill of materials, creating sets, serial numbers and batches, and capturing by-products.
Accounting App
Every business must know what the current financial situation is and has the corporate responsibility to properly (and digitally) record invoices and receipts and to carry out accounting processes accurately. Odoo Accounting works cross-departmentally with the Sales, Purchasing, and DMS apps, with all the benefits that arise from this. Features: easy operation and processes, GoBD compliant, automatic bank synchronisation, integrated standard chart of accounts, asset accounting, receivables management, and Datev interface (separate).
CRM App
If you use Odoo as your business software, you no longer need an external CRM! Odoo has a fully integrated CRM - which will impress you! Modern Kanban views clearly display all (potential) customers and inquiries. From here, you can plan activities, send emails, create quotes, and much more.
Customization with Odoo Enterprise
Companies whose processes cannot be represented in the standard choose Odoo Enterprise. Changes can be made either via the Odoo Studio app or by traditionally adjusting the Python code. Simple adjustments can be carried out by technically skilled individuals using Odoo Studio themselves.
Deeper technical changes to the code should always be made by experienced Odoo partners and developers, as causalities can affect the entire system.
Odoo sh
Odoo sh is a hosting platform created by Odoo, specifically tailored for Odoo Enterprise, providing Odoo partners with everything they need to deliver high quality. You can also use modules, apps & interfaces that are not part of the Odoo standard and therefore not available in the eponymous version. Developers have the opportunity to set up various stagings, develop different features simultaneously, and of course manage the live system.
