What is Odoo ERP?
Odoo is a fully integrated ERP software that allows you to manage, map, and control small, medium-sized, and large companies.
The software company is headquartered in Belgium and employs more than 2400 staff - with over 7 million Odoo users.
How does Odoo work
Odoo ERP is modular and divided into apps & modules. Odoo consists of 30 main apps that cover all business areas. For example: Inventory, Purchasing, Sales, Manufacturing, Financial Accounting, Human Resources, DMS, etc. You can think of it like a mobile app: You can start with just one app and gradually add more apps as your business needs.

Three Odoo versions
Odoo is available in three different versions, which differ in their features and target audience.

Odoo Online (Standard)
Odoo Online is a pure Software as a Service solution (SaaS). This means: You sign up on the website Odoo.com to enter their data, the number of users and the installation is ready in a few minutes. Advantages of Odoo Online: The hosting, security updates and the support of the software are directly handled by Odoo S.A. - that is, by Odoo itself. Another strong advantage for small businesses: the migration to the annual current Odoo version (Odoo Online in the standard) is included in the price and is carried out automatically.

Odoo Online (Custom)
Odoo Enterprise is the flagship of Odoo. This version is for companies that operate away from the standard and take care of the hosting themselves. Odoo Enterprise includes all Odoo features and the software can be fully customised using Customising and Odoo Studio. This is also the strongest distinguishing feature from Odoo Online and the reason why companies choose this version.

Odoo Community
Odoo Community is the original version of Odoo and open-source. It differs significantly from Odoo Enterprise and Online in both design and functionality. Another difference is that Odoo Community is free of licensing costs. Tip: Professional companies usually opt for Odoo Online and Odoo Enterprise, as the advantages of both versions outweigh.
Introduction to the main apps
Warehouse App
The warehouse is the centre of all trading and manufacturing companies. Odoo Warehouse provides everything you need to work effectively. Inventory management with double entries, barcode support, batches and serial numbers, transport management, managing multiple warehouses, documentation of all movements, connectors (for DHL, Amazon, eBay), capturing scrap, cross-docking, defining your own picking steps, etc.
Sales App
The Odoo Sales App includes all the important features to sell successfully worldwide. Creating quotes, invoices and tenders, electronic signature, integrated communication, price lists with individual rules, configurable quote templates, customer portals, contract management, order-specific routes, product configurator, shipping costs based on variables, various product types, etc.
Purchasing App
With the Odoo Purchasing App, you have full control over your inventory. A key guarantee for this are the granularly adjustable minimum stock levels, which automatically send requests for quotes to your suppliers, or the forecasted stock levels attached to each product that clearly show when shortages will occur. Other features include the (automatic) export of price lists, creating tenders and framework agreements, etc.
Manufacturing App
With Odoo Manufacturing, you get a comprehensive solution that works holistically across all business areas - transparent, clear & automated. Fully integrated apps include: Inventory, Sales, Purchasing, PLM, Maintenance, Quality - as well as the main production schedule, which ensures efficient timing control of production. Additional features include: multi-level bills of materials, creating sets, serial numbers and batches, and capturing by-products.
Accounting App
Every business must know what the current financial situation is and has the corporate responsibility to properly (and digitally) record invoices and receipts and to carry out accounting processes accurately. Odoo Accounting works cross-departmentally with the Sales, Purchasing, and DMS apps, with all the benefits that arise from this. Features: easy operation and processes, GoBD compliant, automatic bank synchronisation, integrated standard chart of accounts, asset accounting, receivables management, and Datev interface (separate).
Projects App
With Odoo Projects, you can not only manage complex projects but also offer unique services. The app is the centre of each order: here, individual tasks are created, processed, and exact times are tracked (Odoo App Time Tracking). Based on this, project-related invoices are generated, which are very easy for customers to understand.
Online Shop App
Odoo includes its own online shop (and Point of Sales), which works fully integrated with all apps (Inventory, Sales, Purchasing..). Advantages: annoying interfaces (with all their problems) are eliminated, a single data source, and cross-departmental real-time data.
CRM App
